FSU Department of Music Presents Wind Studios Recital
Frostburg State University’s Department of Music will present its Wind Studios Recital on Friday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Woodward D. Pealer Performing Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public. This event will also be livestreamed; click the “Join Stream” button on this page a few minutes before the recital is scheduled to begin, or any time during the recital, to view the live performance.
The recital will feature solo performances by FSU’s woodwind music majors. Performers include Lucas Lusby and Brandon Little on clarinets (Dr. Mark Gallagher, instructor); Courtney Sechler on flute (Anna Reitsma, instructor); and Raegan Barrett, Max Partlow, Gwen Fazenbaker, Alex McNemar and B. Eileen Martin on saxophones (Dr. Brent Weber, instructor).
The program will include “Syrinx” by Claude Debussy, the first movement of “Sonata No. 2 in E-flat Major, Op. 120” by Johannes Brahms, “Yuhwa: The Goddess of the Willow Trees for Solo Flute” by Adolphus Hailstork, “Valse Vanité” by Rudy Wiedoeft and “Le Caraval de Venise for Alto Saxophone and Piano” by Jules Demersseman, edited by Frederick Hemke.
