FSU Student Raegan Barrett Will Perform Senior Saxophone Recital
Frostburg State University’s Department of Music will present student Raegan Barrett in her senior saxophone recital, “My Mountain Top,” on Saturday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Woodward D. Pealer Performing Arts Center. She will be accompanied by pianist Dr. Joseph Yungen and guest artists Dr. Brent Weber on alto saxophone, Bryce Campbell on marimba, Eileen Martin on baritone saxophone and Gabe Hicks on alto saxophone. The concert is free and open to the public. This event will also be livestreamed; click the “Join Sream” button on this page a few minutes before the recital is scheduled to begin, or any time during the recital, to view the live performance.
The program will include “Tachycardia” by Marc Mellits, “Song for Davy – The Old Year Is Past” and “Song for Alison” from “Song Book for Alto Saxophone in E-flat and Marimba” by David Maslanka, “Danzón No. 6 (Puerto Calvario)” by Arturo Márquez, “Pitch Black” by JacobTV (aka Jacob Ter Veldhuis) and “My Mountain Top” by Andy Scott.
At FSU, Barrett studies under Weber. She anticipates graduating in December 2024 with a bachelor’s in music education. She plans to become a high school band director. Barrett attended Connersville Senior High School in Connersville, Ind. She is the daughter of Jennifer Barrett of Connersville.
