FSU Student Joshua Foreman Will Perform Senior Saxophone Recital
Frostburg State University’s Department of Music will present student Joshua Foreman in his senior saxophone recital on Friday, April 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Woodward D. Pealer Performing Arts Center. He will be accompanied by pianist Dr. Joseph Yungen and guest artist Emily Foreman on the flute. The concert is free and open to the public. This event will also be livestreamed; click the “Join Stream” button on this page a few minutes before the recital is scheduled to begin, or anytime during the recital, to view the live performance.
Foreman will perform “Prologue en fanfare,” “Romantica” and “Valse vulgaire” from “Les tréteaux: trio pour flûte, saxophone alto et piano” by Pierre Max Dubois; “Run, Bird,” “Sing, Bird” and “Fly, Bird” from “Fuzzy Bird Sonata pour saxophone alto et piano” by Takashi Yoshimatsu; “Ballade pour saxophone et orchestre ou piano” by Henri Tomasi; and “Fantasia for Alto Saxophone” by Claude T. Smith.
At FSU, Foreman studies under Dr. Brent Weber. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Foreman has been on the Dean’s List and is the recipient of a Marching Band Scholarship, Kate Dailey Hill Scholarship, Trevaskis Scholarship, Maryland House of Delegates Grant, FSU Honors Scholarship, Allegany County Opportunity Scholarship, Pusey Scholarship, Richards Scholarship, Allegany County Commissioners Scholarship and Woodward and Virginia Pealer Scholarship. He anticipates graduating in May 2023 with a bachelor’s in music – performance and a minor in jazz studies. Foreman plans to become a university professor. He attended Fort Hill High School and is the son of Alan and Roxanne Foreman.
