FSU Student Jasmin Golson Will Perform Senior Clarinet Recital

Frostburg State University’s Department of Music will present student Jasmin Golson in her senior clarinet recital on Saturday, April 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Woodward D. Pealer Performing Arts Center. She will be accompanied by pianist Dr. Joseph Yungen and guest artists Maggie Longerbeam on the flute and Evelyn Anderson on the clarinet. The concert is free and open to the public. The program consists of “Allegro moderato” from “Six Duets for Two Clarinets” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; the four movements, “Allegro affanato,” “Vivace,” “Larghetto” and “Prestissimo assai,” from “Sonate fur Klarinette und Pianoforte, Op. 49” by Max Reger; the six movements, “Andante sostenuto,” “Allegro risoluto,” “Moderato,” “Allegro ma non troppo,” “Andante molto” and “Allegro,” of “Duos for Flute and Clarinet, Op. 24” by Robert Muczynski; and the three movements, “Allegro moderato,” “Andante” and “Presto,” from “Sonate for Klarinette (B) og Klaver, Op. 23” by Trygve Madsen.

At FSU, Golson studies under Dr. Mark Gallagher. She has been on the Dean’s List and is the recipient of an FSU Honors Scholarship and a Talent in the Arts Scholarship. Golson anticipates graduating in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She plans to teach at the elementary school level and then later at the high school level. Golson attended Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School in Upper Marlboro, Md.
