Introduction to Harmony Singing workshop with The Honey Dewdrops

Let your bird out of its cage and make some music with others! Americana folk music duo, The Honey Dewdrops, share techniques for achieving good tone, finding the melody, and creating harmony.

Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish, together known as The Honey Dewdrops, have long felt the push and pull between their Appalachian roots and their current home in urban Baltimore. Their evocative songwriting and harmony-soaked music blend the tones of the guitar, banjo, and mandolin to convey the beauty and warmth of traditional folk music while reflecting the harsh realities of the present. Baltimore Magazine stated that “… their sincere, stripped-down songwriting is just the kind of music we need more of. This music is sweet to the ears, easy on the heart, and will stick in your mind for some time to come.”

This free event is presented as part of the Frostburg State University Appalachian Festival.

CES is supported in part by the Maryland State Arts Council and the City of Frostburg.
