FSU Student Hannah Hieronimus Will Perform Junior Voice Recital
Frostburg State University’s Department of Music will present soprano Hannah Hieronimus in her junior voice recital on Saturday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Woodward D. Pealer Performing Arts Center. She will be accompanied by pianist Dr. Joseph Yungen and the following guest artists: lutenist Lyle Nordstrom, pianist Samuel White and soprano Laurel Plitnik. The concert is free and open to the public. This event will also be livestreamed; click the “Join Stream” button on this page a few minutes before the recital is scheduled to begin, or anytime during the recital, to view the live performance.
Hieronimus will perform “Son pochi Fiori” from “L’amico Fritz” (1891) by Pietro Mascagni, “Sull’aria” from “Le nozze di Figaro” (1786) by W.A. Mozart, “Le souvenir d’avoir chanté” (1898) by Reynaldo Hahn (1874-1947), “Villanelle” from “Les nuits d’été” (1841) by Hector Berlioz, “Après un rêve” (1877) by Gabriel Fauré, “Diaphenia” (1605) by Francis Pilkington, “Now, O Now, I Needs Must Part” (1597) and “Flow My Tears” (1600) by John Dowland, “Do Not Go My Love” (1917) by Richard Hageman, “Spring” (1955) by Dominick Argento, “Divinités du Styx” from “Alceste” (1767) by C.W. Gluck and a group of three settings of the same poem – “Die Lorelei” (1838) by Johanna Kinkel, “Lorelei” (1843) by Clara Schumann and “Die Loreley” (1841) by Franz Liszt.
At FSU, Hieronimus studies under Gregory Scott Stuart and Dr. Scott Rieker. She is a sister of Delta Zeta. Hieronimus anticipates graduating in May 2024 with a bachelor’s in music – vocal performance and health science. After graduating, she plans to attend medical school and become a medical doctor. Hieronimus attended North Harford High School in Pylesville, Md.
