Cumberland Astronomy Club Meeting

There will be a presentation on the Pleiades on Friday Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Gira Center 156. Come learn about the story in some cultures regarding the "Seven Sisters" and what to look for when observing this, the most famous of open clusters in the Northern Hemisphere.
The Pleiades are a group of more than 800 stars located about 410 light-years from Earth in the constellation Taurus. Also known as the "Seven Sisters" and Messier 45, the object derives its English name from Greek legend.
