A Musical Feast of Parisian Romance and Mardi Gras Revelry

“These musicians can handle the complexities and breakneck speeds of Roma swing.” (WPFW Radio/NPR)

The Hot Club of Baltimore showcases irresistible renditions of Django Reinhardt jazz, the romantic appeal of French Musette and the rollicking fun of ’30s and ’40s swing. Led by celebrated bandleader Michael Joseph Harris and featuring the soaring vocals of Amanda Jones, the quintet’s intimate performance at Loft 129 in downtown Cumberland is the ultimate cure for the winter blues.

With the Hot Club of Baltimore and the eclectic Ultrafaux ensemble, Michael Joseph Harris has appeared in concert halls, clubs and festivals throughout the U.S. and Europe, including Festival Django Reinhardt in France, Preston Jazz and Improvisation Festival in England, Djangoary Soiree Festival in Virginia and Django by the Sea in Maine. He is the founder and artistic director of the Charm City Django Jazz Festival.

A pre-performance cocktail reception for ticket holders will take place at the Allegany Arts Council Saville Gallery, 9 N. Centre St., Cumberland.

This event is supported in part by a Maryland State Arts Council Presenting and Touring Grant.
