Frostburg State University Will Offer Maryland Certified Pool Operator Certification and Recertification
A Maryland state-approved pool operator certification and recertification class will be offered through Frostburg State University’s Activities for Life from Monday, May 6, through Thursday, May 9, in the FSU Cordts Physical Education Center room 177. A recertification class will also be offered on May 6.
Participants will learn about pool safety and management, filtration, circulation, disinfection, water chemistry and Maryland pool and spa regulations. Upon successful completion of the course and passing the written test, participants will be certified in Maryland to operate public and semi-public swimming pools and spas. Participants must be at least 16 years old.
The full certification class will be held May 6 through May 9 from 6 to 10 p.m. each day. Participants must be present for all four class dates. The recertification class will be held May 6 from 6 to 10 p.m. Brian Vought will be the instructor.
Full certification will cost $115 and recertification will cost $65. Some counties in Maryland charge a fee to obtain a county license. (Allegany County does not.) The fee is not included in the cost of the course.
