FSU Presents the TRU College Life
Frostburg State University’s Programming Council and Delta Zeta sorority presents speaker Julia Garcia on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m. in the Lane University Center Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall. Garcia’s presentation will explore the TRU college life after class has been dismissed. This event is free and open to the public.
Through her fearless and highly engaging approach, Garcia takes her audience on an unforgettable journey through the reality that comes flooding in like a bad hangover after the partying, fun and hookups are over. She takes you through her real-life experiences and excessive partying that ultimately led to her sexual assault, the death of her best friend and the infamous night that almost took her entire college experience away completely.
Garcia earned her Bachelor of Arts in communications from New York Institute of Technology where she was a scholar athlete on the soccer team, writer for the campus newspaper, reporter for the school news station and president of the woman’s association. She is now the creator and co-founder of, a TRU movement inspiring individuals to be “TRU,” which stands for “The Real U.”
