TILLY THE TRICKSTER TO TICKLE FUNNY BONES
The Department of Theatre and Dance’s Roundabout Children’s Theatre at Frostburg State University will present the new musical Tilly the Trickster, based on the popular children’s book by comedian Molly Shannon, with music and lyrics written by Drew Fornarola and the book by Jeremy Dobrish.
Performances will take place on November 2 and 3 at 2:00 pm with a spirited Trickster Party beginning at 12:30 pm on both dates in FSU’s Performing Arts Center.
In this playful story directed by Marizy Yost-Rushton, young Tilly lives for playing tricks and she has something up her sleeve for everyone she knows, even the family dog. From red-hot candy to toothpaste-flavored cookies, Tilly tests the funny bones of those around her. When her bag of tricks becomes too full, her loving family decides to put her to the test. Can the mischievous Tilly take the same jokes that she dishes out? Will she learn that sometimes her prankster ways can go too far?
From such high-spirited songs as “Everyone Loves My Tricks,” to the parental favorite “These Tricks Need to Stop,” this musical will have your family talking about the highs and lows of trickery, while sharing belly laughs along the way.
Frostburg State University’s presentation of Tilly the Trickster is produced as a Rolling World Premier in association with Atlantic Theatre Company for Kids.
