FSU Hosts Inspirational Speaker and Agent of Change Kevin Carroll
Inspirational speaker Kevin Carroll, an author, speaker and agent of social change, will present a seminar at Frostburg State University to help students embrace their spirit of play and creativity and realize their full potential. The event will be held in the Cordts Physical Education Center in the main arena on Monday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m.
Carroll was abandoned by his parents and raised by his grandparents. He often felt lost as a child until he discovered the playground and the red rubber ball that fueled his dreams. He joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a language interpreter; he is fluent in German, Croatian, Czech and Serbian. Now Carroll is the founder of Kevin Carroll Katalyst/LLC and is the author of the highly successful books: “Red Rubber Ball,” “What’s Your Red Rubber Ball?” and “The Red Rubber Ball at Work.” He inspires businesses, organizations and individuals to embrace their spirit of play and creativity to maximize their human potential and sustain more meaningful business and growth.
Carroll has worked as a consultant for many organizations, including the National Hockey League, Nike, Starbucks (his words appeared on 17 million Grande cups), the Walt Disney Co. and the Discovery Channel. He holds a master’s degree in health education from St. Joseph’s University, a bachelor’s degree in speech communication with a minor in physical education from Angelo State University and an associate degree in interpreting and translating from the Community College of the Air Force.
The event, which is sponsored by Student Educational Services, is free and open to the public. For more information, call the FSU Information Desk at 301-687-4411.
