Spring Jazz Concert

Frostburg State University Concert Jazz Ensemble to Perform “Joy Spring”

The Frostburg State University Concert Jazz Ensemble will present “Joy Spring,” a celebration of the season’s abundance, on Thursday, May 2, at 8 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Performing Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public.

The diverse styles of jazz will represent this abundance as each tune demonstrates a unique cross-section of the jazz idiom from the classic swing sound of Glenn Miller’s Band to the contemporary Third-Stream technique of Fred Sturm. The ensemble will feature student soloists and special guests, including local music teachers Tom Harrison, Jim Roderick and Mark Gauthier.
