Senior Art Exhibit: “Unique Temperament”

Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Stephanie Ann Roper Gallery 101 Braddock Road, Frostburg, MD, Frostburg

FSU Roper Gallery to Present Exhibit by Senior Student Artists
Frostburg State University’s Visual Arts Department will host a senior art exhibition on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Stephanie Ann Roper Art Gallery in the FSU Fine Arts Building. The exhibit, titled “Unique Temperament,” will feature work by Allison Cook, Kate Edwards, Marzio Figeroa and Stephenie Green. This event is free and open to the public.
Cook hopes to graduate with a Bachelors of Fine Arts with a concentration in photography and ceramics and a minor in art history. Cook focuses primarily in black and white digital and film photography as well as alternative ceramic firing processes. She draws her inspiration from the culture and design elements of traditional Native American pottery, as well as from the great photojournalists from the past 150 years. She hopes for a career as a ceramic sculptor or as a photographer.
Edwards is majoring in Art and Design with a concentration in printmaking and graphic design. Her biggest source of inspiration is nature; she loves all the tiny details and the imperfect beauty of it. Edwards will showcase her printmaking as well as some paper-cutting.
Figueroa’s artistic focus is painting and illustration. He specializes in cartoons and enjoys creating different characters as well as expressing their different temperaments. His influences stem from various cartoon artists and styles from his childhood, and he looks to those artists for inspiration.
Green is an Art and Design major with a focus in graphic design. Green enjoys incorporating her love for illustration, paintings, typography and designs into much of her work, which include design posters, package designs and web designs. She hopes to graduate this fall and pursue her passion for graphic design.
