FSU Student Sarah Galvin to Present Student Recital
Frostburg State University student Sarah Galvin will present a clarinet recital on Sunday, April 21, at 7 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Performing Arts Center. She will be accompanied by Dr. Jay DeWire on piano. The recital is free and open to the public.
Galvin will first perform a quartet, “Divertimento” by Alfred Uhl. She will be assisted by Amanda Gold and Heather Wahl on clarinet and Dr. Mark Gallagher on bass clarinet. Galvin will then perform “Deuxième Sonate” by François Devienne, “Raga Music” by the Indian composer and Indo-jazz pioneer John Mayer and “Sonata in A flat” by Max Reger.
A graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, Galvin expects to graduate in May with a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in music performance and English. She is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honors Society. She is the daughter of James and Susan Galvin of Sykesville, Md. After graduation, Galvin plans to pursue FSU’s Master of Arts in Teaching program.
