FSU Presents Folk Musicians at Mountain City Traditional Arts
Internationally acclaimed folk musicians Sparky and Rhonda Rucker will perform at Mountain City Traditional Arts, 25 E. Main St., Frostburg, at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 5. They weave their music into captivating stories about history and they share this knowledge with many schools and colleges. This event is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated.
Sparky Rucker has been performing over 40 years and is internationally recognized as a leading folklorist, musician, historian, storyteller and author. He accompanies himself with finger-style picking and bottleneck blues guitar, banjo and spoons. Rhonda Rucker is a musician, storyteller, author and songwriter. Her blues-style harmonica, piano, old-time banjo and bones add musical versatility to their performances.
Mountain City Traditional Arts is a program of Frostburg State University with support from the Allegany Arts Council, the FSU Foundation, Frostburg First: A Main Street Community and the Maryland Traditions Program of the Maryland State Arts Council.
