John HammondThe LIVE! at StarScape club series proudly presents its first artist of the 2012-13 season, John Hammond. This Grammy Award-winning bluesman and 2011 inductee into the Blues Hall of Fame is a tireless performer who tours worldwide every year. Since his 1962 self-titled debut, Hammond has proven himself to be a prodigious musician. A master on National Steel, Guild 12-string and Stubbs 6-string guitars and harmonica, he has been honored with a total of eight Blues Music Awards and an additional 10 nominations.
As one of the world’s foremost acoustic blues artists, Hammond delivers the deepest and most intense interpretations of everything from early blues songs to his original compositions.

The legendary music producer T. Bone Burnett declares: “John is in a very small circle of men with a guitar and a harmonica. Jimmy Reed, Howlin’ Wolf, Bob Dylan. The guitar is an orchestra. …The language goes out through the night.”
