“Mi Mejor Enemigo” is a darkly comic film about the absurdity of war, culture xenophobia and national borders. The film is based on the geopolitical argument between Chile and Argentina that led to military action in 1978 referred to as the Beagle Conflict. “Mi Mejor Enemigo” tells the story of a six-man Chilean patrol defending the vast grassy plains of southern Patagonia that bonds with a six-man Argentinian patrol defending from the opposite side of the same border.
