FSU’s Department of Theatre and Dance to Present Musical Revue “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change”
Frostburg State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance will offer audiences a view of the awkwardness, complexity, truths and myths of modern love when it kicks off the 2017-18 season with “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” directed by Chris McCabe. A musical revue with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, the comedy sums up “everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit.”
Performances will take place in the F. Perry Smith Studio Theatre of the Woodward D. Pealer Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 6 and 7, and Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 12 to 14, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Oct. 7.
“I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change” is presented in the form of a series of vignettes connected by the central theme of love and relationships. From the quirky first date, to marriage, children and dating during the twilight years, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” zooms in on the deeply human need for romance and connection, however perilous (and wonderful) they may be.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.frostburg.edu/TheatreDance (click “buy tickets”). Individual ticket prices are $7 for students, $12 for FSU employees and senior citizens and $15 for the general public. Group discounts are available when booked in advance.
