Humming House Performs Unique Combination of Music at Frostburg
Humming House will perform at Frostburg State University on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. in the Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall in the Lane University Center. The band of five brings together diverse musical backgrounds of Americana, classical composition, bluegrass, soul and traditional Irish music to create their unique sound.
The band, whose sound is described as a mix of “folk, blues and bluegrass with pop sensibilities,” hails from Nashville, Tenn. They’ve recently recorded their debut album with Grammy-winning producers Vance Powell and Mitch Dane. Their song, “When the Dawn Becomes the Day” was featured on an episode of MTV’s “World of Jenks.”
Tickets are $5 for general admission and $3 for students. This event is sponsored by Phi Mu Alpha and is free and open to the public, but Phi Mu Alpha will be collecting donations at the event for the preservation of music and all proceeds will be donated to a local music charity.
