United Campus Ministry, The Philosophy Department, and Women's Studies will be sponsoring an awareness campaign on human trafficking in the United States. Human trafficking is the modern form of slavery, with illegal smuggling and trading of people, for forced labor or sexual exploitation. Penny Hoeflinger, author, activist, and survivor of human trafficking from childhood will be speaking on campus on March 13 in Lane University Center 109 at 7 p.m.
Lunch -- we will be hosting a brown bag lunch -- Conversation and Q&A with Penny -- this is especially for community leaders and faculty, but open to all. -- Lane University Center 110.
