FSU Wind Ensemble to Perform Spring Concert
Frostburg State University’s Wind Ensemble will present its final concert of the semester on Sunday, May 4, at 3 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Performing Arts Center.
The concert will feature “Dances From Crete” by Adam Gorb, portraying elements of Greek mythology and the Greek countryside; “Abram’s Pursuit” by David Holsinger, inspired by the biblical story of Abram chasing down his nephew’s captors; and “Sang!” by Dana Wilson, which incorporates strong jazz influences. Also on the program is “Foundry” by John Mackey, featuring the percussion section of the band, “Fantasia on Greensleeves” by Ralph Vaughan Williams and “Fairest of the Fair” by John Philip Sousa.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students (cash only) and children 12 and under are admitted free. There is no advanced seating or reservations. For more information, contact the Department of Music at 301-687-4109.
