FSU Percussion Ensemble to Present Fall Concert
The Frostburg State University Percussion Ensemble will present its Fall Concert on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 8 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall at the FSU Performing Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public
The concert will begin with a tribute to the Japanese percussion group, “Kodo.” The ensemble will perform an arrangement of Kodo’s “Nanafushi,” featuring three performers with multiple percussion responsibilities.
The program features student conductor Gregory Jaeger directing an arrangement of Scott Joplin’s “The Entertainer.” Also included is a setting of J.S. Bach’s classic, “Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring” and Jim Casella’s tour-de-force, “Katraterra.”
The concert will conclude with an arrangement of Donald Fagen’s “The Goodbye Look.”
