FSU’s Department of Music to Present Opera Theatre
Frostburg State University’s Opera Theater will present Jacques Offenbach’s one-act comic operetta, “The Wedding by Lantern Light,” on Thursday, Nov. 15, and Friday, Nov. 16, at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Pealer Recital Hall. Both performances are free and open to the public.
“The Wedding by Lantern Light” is a story of a man named Peter, a treasure and two greedy widows who want to marry him. Dr. Mariana Mihai-Zoeter is stage director/music director. Performers will be accompanied by pianist Dr. Jay DeWire and clarinetist Dr. Mark Gallagher. Soprano Britany Poindexter and mezzo-soprano Jessica Knouse play the role of Denise, tenor Lane Conklin plays Peter, soprano Allison Moses plays Anne, soprano Bailey Kerr plays Catherine and actor Zachary Dodge plays the humble policeman.
