The Frostburg State University Chamber Choir and Vocal Jazz Ensemble will present their Fall Choral Concert, Sunday, November 24, at 4:00 pm at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 16 Washington Street, Cumberland, MD.  The concert is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Dr. Karen Soderberg and assisted by pianist and Assistant Conductor Dr. Sean Beachy, the Chamber Choir’s performance will include Totus Tuus by Henryk Gorecki; two versions of O Magnum Mysterium, one by Spanish composer Javier Busto and the other by our very own Sean Beachy; Grace Before Sleep by Susan LaBarr will follow, featuring Kylie Oosterink, student conductor, and Aftonen by Swedish composer Hugo Alfven.

The Vocal Jazz Ensemble (VJE) will perform Kirby Shaw’s a cappella arrangement of Am I Blue featuring Kylie Oosterink and Sean Beachy; Don’t Think It’s Easy by Dave Barduhn with Sean Beachy at the piano; I Thought About You Today arranged by David Scott; Muddy Water arranged by Michelle Weir featuring Sarah Marean; Down At Smoky Joe’s, Joe’s Place featuring Sean Scriber and Johnathan Archer and Big Benny Be-Bop arranged by Ken Kraintz featuring Mikayla Young and Zachary Dodge.  Accompanying VJE are Sean Beachy, piano; Mike Murphy, bass and Gary Hartman, drums.

The concert will conclude with the Chamber Choir performing Warning to the Rich by Swedish composer Thomas Jennefelt; Pseudo-Yoik by Jaako Mäntyjärvi and the gospel selection Joshua by Paul Caldwell & Sean Ivory with Sean Beachy, piano.
