For over 500 years, the Vienna Boys Choir has charmed audiences with their celestial voices. The celebrated choir is known worldwide for fine choral music that is full of glorious harmonies and angelically pure tone. Throughout the centuries, great composers such as Mozart, Gluck and Bruckner have worked with the choir and Franz Schubert was himself a chorister.
To rejoice in all the wonder and magic that the holiday season has to offer, CES welcomes the return of these youthful Austrian prodigies to the mountains of Western Maryland. Their extraordinary voices will soar throughout the Pealer Recital Hall with the joy of the holiday spirit, including traditional Christmas carols, popular holiday favorites, Gregorian chants and other songs from across the world. “Theirs are the voices of Christmas, as pure as angels, as clear as the winter light,” says critic Charles Passy of Ovation.
This special holiday occasion for the family is not to be missed!
The Cultural Events Series is supported by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive, and is sponsored in part by the Allegany Arts Council with funds from the Maryland State Arts Council.
