FSU Will Host Community Wind Conference March 9

Frostburg State University is partnering with the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) to bring a wind conference to FSU on Thursday, March 9, from 2 to 3 p.m. in room 397 of FSU’s Gira Center. Participants will learn community wind basics, including size, location, best resources and guidance when planning a community wind project.

Other topics include community wind economics, financing mechanisms and grant programs provided by MEA, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and other sources.

The wind energy program focuses on three categories of employment: residential, community and commercial-scale projects. Through its various Windswept Grant Programs, educational outreach and Anemometer Loan Program, MEA provides support to Maryland residents, businesses, government entities and nonprofits wishing to install wind energy systems.

Participants may register online via Eventbrite at www.Eventbrite.com. Search MEA Community Wind. For more information on the conferences and speakers, visit www.Energy.Maryland.gov and look for their events page.
