The Cambridge American Stage Tour (CAST) will return to Frostburg State University for this season’s comedic Shakespearean performance on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center’s Pealer Recital Hall. Cambridge University theatre students will put a modern twist on “As You Like It,” one of William Shakespeare’s early comedies.

CAST was established in 2000 and the group has since made numerous appearances on FSU’s campus to share its renditions of Shakespeare classics. The tour of the undergraduate students aims to make Shakespeare’s work more widely known up and down the East Coast by tweaking music, costumes and situations to better fit modern perspectives and humor.

“As You Like It” boasts Bohemian vibes and live music while following bickering brothers Oliver and Orlando, amicable cousins Rosalind and Celia, a pair of duke brothers and many other characters as they maneuver “mistaken identities, murderous plots, cross-dressing, pastoral love and wrestling.”

The performance is sponsored by FSU’s Department of English, with support from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Office of the Provost and the FSU Foundation. Tickets will be available at the door, costing $6 for students and $12 for general admission.
